I've always admired Jane Goodall
http://www.janegoodall.org/, even heard her speak once where she had the entire audience sparked about her passion to start a program called Roots and Shoots. That was ages ago, and I'm so happy to see not only is her program a success, but Roots and Shoots Canada has branched out to another initiative, Project Blue:
http://www.janegoodall.ca/project-blue/about.html
The purpose of Project Blue is "to encourage Roots & Shoots groups to focus their projects on water-related issues and take part in coordinated activities and events. In doing so, groups' projects will be united around a common theme in order to increase their impact.".
Project Blue is geared towards the youth and that is a key to success of sustainability IMHO. I mean, we can change our ways but what of the next genners? They too need to be educated that the way they grew up, using water as if it was "only water".
I am already an active volunteer with a social good nonprofit so can't commit to a lot of time with this, but I will follow the project and Jane to be aware of the events or activities that are happening.
