I posted the first video I made (not counting just letting the film roll) in response to the Bridges for Women contest to celebrate Volunteer Week. I didn't let the huge learning curve or the frustration stop me, I knew I was learning and that's a good thing.
Today I was notified that I won their Grand Prize for my entry, I am just so excited as I had entered a similar contest for TechSoup Global in their Digital StoryTelling Challenge, this one trying to explain what Bridges do in 5 photographs and won Honourable Mention from over 100 entries all over the world.
It is so validating for me that I am creative, and in both cases I am spreading awareness about the gutsy little nonprofit where I volunteer for with a passion so it's a win-win for me. I love when that happens :)

Here's my Digital StoryTelling link, my entry is at the bottom of the winners list, but check out the others too there's some amazing submissions from nonprofits all over the world!
Today is just another wonderful day where scathingly brilliant things happen.
