Islamabad – City Resilience Plan
Urban resilience basically helps to balance the issues of eco system and human. It is a response strategy for coping with any disaster. In case of my city Islamabad-Pakistan, the city has its master plan which helps in disaster management and which is basic tool ensuring urban resilience. The master plan for the city includes the planning and troubleshooting in situation of disasters of low, medium and high intensity. City has witnessed a severe earth quake in October 2005 and now it has ERRA, Earth Quake Recovery and Rehabilitation Authority which has basic earth quake resilience strategy. The Capital Development Authority is looking after the Green Strategy and ensuring the sustainability of Green Livings around the city. Islamabad Traffic and National High Way Authority work combine to plan and solve the problems of Traffic and Transportation in the capital.
Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan through with complex city master plan is one of the good example of modern urban planning. The plan has following salient features;
- Very good urban design of metro politan city
- Combination of rigid and flexible plans for the different areas
- Institutional arrangements to carry out the implementation of master plan are being strengthened.
- The twin city Rawalpindi is also being accommodated in infrastructure development plan specially transport.
- Different stakeholders from Government, Private and community are working on the plan and its implementation
- Environment sustainability is the top priority in the plan.
- Full protection has been given to Margalla hills to maintain its ecological and environmental setting and for this purpose stone crushing is being ended.
We are living in the Sector where we have developed the community who meets monthly in order to discuss various issues surrounded in the sector and measures are decided and taken such as plantation , green decoration of trees and tidiness/cleanliness of public parks etc.

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal.
