"Dan Nocera, the founder of Sun Catalytix, has claimed that his company
is developing a process by which a mere bottle of water treated with a
photovoltaic array could be used to power an average household for a
day."
For those who required a dictionary, like me, to understand that: It's photosynthesis. Plants use sunlight to split water into to parts creating fuel. This process would be utilizing sunlight like a plant except rather than growing more plants we would be powering our homes.
This project has been in development for 25 years. This company is taking the initiative making this product "robust and easy to maintain" (Dan Nocera).
This would involve having a solar panel on the roof but would differ in it's use of power. The power would not be coming directly from the sun, rather the solar power would be utilized to split the water into two parts.
And that is my Knowledge Evoke.
