A crash course in changing the world.
Dear Evoke Agents,
I think that sharing a meal is one of the best ways to show that we care. My special celebration in 2020: Blue Marlin, Saffron, Riesling and some good friends!
In 2020 I will be semi-retired, in my mid-fifty then (I know I am above average in this group), I will be living 6 months in Montréal during summer time, and 6 months somewhere under the sun during winter time, probably in south Florida (a Caribbean island could also do it, but I am not forecasting any electric plane that soon). Yes, I am a typical Canadian snowbird.
The 6 winter months under the sun, makes us save a lot of energy on heating, a necessity in Québec. The 6 summer months in Montréal makes us save some energy on air conditioning in Florida, sometimes very useful. Trips between the 2 will take place in an electric car. Hydro-electric power, a reliable and renewable source, will still take place in Montréal. Solar technologies will be easier to adapt in the US by then, and will supply a good portion of our needs there.
Our actual garden in Montréal will continue to grow and help for a portion of our food needs. In Florida we will build a large variety of Citrus trees, and a garden, that will also help. In both places we will support CSA, just like we are doing right now in Montréal.
The Blue Marlin will be fresh from local waters. Fishing will be done on a sail boat, a wind powered approach. With Saffron and Riesling, we will continue to support global exchanges, and domestic producers.
Good friends are there for life, and the ultimate sustainable solution!
