Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

Calling All Musicians, Singers and Lyricists! Let's start an EVOKE BAND!!!

I am an artist.
I believe in the power of art and music to spread awareness and change people's lives for the better. So I'm starting this experiment in online collaboration and creativity. I just created a youtube channel called TheEvokeBand.

I uploaded a video of a song I just started to write inspired by EVOKE.
The problem is all I have are chords and a basic melody.
That's where you come in.
I'm going to need singers, musicians, songwriters, lyricists, and producers for this project.

I want as many people in on this project as possible so if you'd like to support it please power vote and make a post linking to this blog post. (bonus points for sharing it on facebook to all your musician friends)

Here is the first song we will be working on:

Let me know what you think.
I'm going to need people to write lyrics (in different languages), play instruments, bang on percussion, and sing harmonies. I'll give each type of person more information on how to get involved in a bit.
The quick and dirty info is this.
You're going to need to play the video on headphones, record your part, then upload your video to youtube as a video response so I can download it and put it in the mix!!

This is probably going to be my Evokation... but I want to create a CD of the best songs we all create and sell it with the proceeds going to a charity for art and music in Africa.

Songs we are working on:

I want as many people in on this project as possible so if you'd like to support it please power vote and make a post linking to this blog post.

btw. just to satisfy the mission, I'm going to say that I will be making music in 2020. Music that changes the world and makes people love one another more.

p.s. I must also give a shout out to Reema, for it was this post that inspired this movement:

To create this kind of collaboration I recommend using www.hitRECord.org for organizing collaborators and contributions across your project. Easy to crowdsource and direct your DIY experience there with other great artists!

very nice rhythm backing. I'm always down for writing poetry and song, though I've never done it in a collaborative setting. often my music is me on all instruments.

@Evo Thanks! that's an awesome website, perhaps we'll use that. I gotta check it out some more. I like youtube because most people have an account already. But perhaps we'll put our final products on there. Or perhaps we'll use both. Using that site www.hitRECord.org will definitely get more people to hear our cause. Get more agents on here! :D

@Michael Awesome! Hopefully you can contribute something. If you want to start a song that we can use do it!

Thanks PJE, is there anything you can contribute? Even the smallest hand claps would do. HAHAHA
Comment by PJE on April 5, 2010 at 11:32am
I'll certainly be clapping.

Tenor sax for sure! This is awesome, I'm so glad I inspired you :) If you need any other help, just let me know. I can also chime in on a little voice, guitar, piano or flute :)

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
