The Canadian Charity website,
"Canada Helps", was started by a group of school friends who wanted to find a way for Canadians to make all of their charitable donations online, by going to one site. Sounds like a no-brainer now, but this was back in the late 90s, when the majority of charities did not have an online presence, and most donors were afraid of making financial transactions online. To me, this is an example of many of the EVOKE powers, but particularly ENTREPRENEURSHIP, COLLABORATION, LOCAL INSIGHT and SUSTAINABILITY.
The founders understood what the local issues were and brought diverse skills to the project. The fact that the site is still up and running and has facilitated the donation of over $100 million to Canadian charities since 2000, is a testament to its sustainability. The founders are still on the board of Canada Helps.
