It was the last km. I was in Venice, Italy, with lots of people running on those last, tiring bridges. I had run 41 km so far, speaking with other runners, enjoying the nice panorama along the Brenta river and fighting against the "30km wall", the point in which many marathoners begins to experience pain because of the lack of "fuel". I had to stop twice, because my legs seemed painful pieces of wood, but finally I was there, near the finish line. And I got it. I was a first time marathoner!. I was not a regular athlete and I started running only few months before.
Along those last meters, in the wonderful scenery of the Canal Grande, I felt a lot of fulfilling feelings. I recognises how true is that hard work pays, that focusing on your objective, whatever may happens, is the way to go, that the need to feel the warm of other people is something that you can't do without, but what I remember more is that...
everything is possible if you really want it.
