The story I chose was published by the Department of Economics, University of Antananarivo. The study deals with the communication between local institutions like landowners and leaders of projects who are planning on developing countries which in the end should improve the methods of natural resources management but rarely does.
Project agents often are exploiting countries to their advantage regardless of its inhabitants.
To give but one exmaple the study refers to two ethnic groups in Madagascar who due to the unfair exploitation of their land by opening it for tourism may soon suffer from depletion of their resources like fish, rice, cattle, water and also forest.
As a consequence people will start fighting for their land.
Landowners follow rules which preserved the natural resources for centuries. That´s why the study suggests that people who want to start any kind of project in areas classified as reserves first have to talk to people living their, learn their rules and work with them.
