Community Participation in Regional Sustainable Development Programs (PRODERS)
This project took place around the 90's with the principal goal being study the way of live of poor communities around some different ecosystems, that being in order to understand the relationship that exist among the people living there and the natural balance.
It can be said in the words of the head of the project ""Sustainable community development can be defined as an endogenous mechanism by means of which a community assumes or retakes
control of the processes which shape and affect it. This definition
derives from a general principle of ecological policy which states that
the fundamental reason why society and nature are both today subject to
widespread pillage and deterioration is that human societies have lost
control over nature and over themselves" (Toledo, V.M.: 1996.)"

- support democratic community planning fora during the development of the Ecological Land-Use Initiative and its accompanying management plan;
- combine ‘traditional’ natural resource management know-how with advances made in development science and technology;
- guarantee a link between government action and community initiatives arising out of the management plan;
- strengthen the ecoproduction infrastructure to allow viable, sustainable production development guaranteeing natural resource conservation and replenishment;
- encourage internal community savings; and
- support human resource strengthening through training.

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal.
