One of the most enormous yet often overlooked food security problems is food transportation. With the amount of fossil fuel left in the world slowly deteriorating and the price of gas fluxuating every day, transportation of food is becoming increasingly difficult. Gas prices going up means the mass-transportation of food to grocery stores and markets is becoming more expensive, which in turn makes the price of the actual food go up more and more. Consequently if there were more efficient, cheaper, alternative fuel resources available for large vessels which provide food to entire cities, the price of fuel would go down, making food easier to transport. This would make food more available, cheaper, and easier to get for everyone. In order to fix the problem, the best thing to do is to start at the root to create a domino effect and solve even more problems.
