A crash course in changing the world.
The most interesting and important fact of these five is the one called "covering the risk"
I was really surprised by the low correlation between how much harm that hazard does and how upset people get about it. That means that sometimes there is a huge panic about something that isn't worth it. And the awarness of big hazards is sometimes too low. That means that the coorelation between those two facts should be pushed to get higher. I think it is important to create a high rate of how upset people are to create awarness for the real important and big hazards.
Another intersting point is the outrage management which goes along with the risks management. Most of the times when you try to calm people down with the words "calm down" you cause the opposite reaction. So you have to calm them down without really saying it.
And there's another challenge to accept: the Journalists. It's not easy to increase the correlation with having journalist who like to increase the importance of the low hazard stories. So you have to strongly work with the journalists to increase the correlation and make your risk management very good.
To sum it up: It's really interesting how people can be influneced with easy methods and how hard it is to gain awarness for the real important things.
