Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

Ok... Talked to an engeneer about my 3 projects (Wind, Wave and solar)

Here are the results:

Wind: well, I had a great idea for a new kind of wind turbine.

http://www.urgentevoke.com/profiles/blogs/a-new-type-of-wind-turbine

After talking to the engeneer it turnes out, that though it seems counter intuative that it would be more efficiant use the energy of the wind at a 90 degree angle, it actualy is. and so my idea, would end up being less efficiant than conventional wind turbines.

An amazing fact I learned is that if a sailboat travels with its back to the wind it goes slower than if the wind is at its side. with the wind at your side you can go faster than the wind itself is going. counter intuative, I know, but apparently true.

Wave: Also had an idea for wave enrgy.

http://www.urgentevoke.com/profiles/blogs/wave-energy-2

This has lots of potential but there is a problem keeping the energy consistant. the wave goes up and down at different speeds and that doesn't work for the generator. we can make it go at one speed if we make it lift a weight that then falls at a unified speed, but then it would miss the next wave and miss the point entirely.

seems there is still some thought to put into this one to make it work, but it's not as simple as my design.

Solar: Lastly, I had a solar power design.

http://www.urgentevoke.com/profiles/blogs/sustainable-renewable-sol...

And now for the good news. He says he would need to see the basic design and it may all crash and burn at the prototype faze, but in priciple it is a good idea and should work.

well smack me in the face and call be George, something that went well.

now we just have to build a prototype.

There you have it. if you've been following my posts you may bw happy to see this next step. the all too scary step of actually talking to an engeneer. hope it made sense.

sorry for spelling. have no checker on this computer.

Great work Agent Licht. I'm awarding you +50 for your courage in speaking to the engineer. So, the next step might be a prototype. How might you go about achieving this? How much would it cost? Could you build a "Heath Robinson" version by scavenging materials? Imagine you have zero cash to build this. How would you do it?

Keep up the great work.

Fantastic Omri...well done. One out of three is actually a very good result.

And so to the next step. I don't know your circ**stances or access but if you have any educational contact you could enlist the help of a class of students at a local school or college to assist as part of their science cla****. This would solve the issue of workers and resources and have the added benefit of opening up EVOKE to other as you mentor them through the process. Just a thought.

+1 for Courage

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

The meal

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Foods are vacc** sealded for easy…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
