So, here we are, and it's 2020. My boys are a little older now and have continued to learn how to cook and prepare dinner for us and friends. Tonight, we do this a little differently. Tonight we serve our first meal in a homeless feeding center in Guatemala. My little boys are no longer 3 and 4, they're now 13 and 14 and have planned the menu, bought, picked or brought the fixings and have cooked a nutritious, well-rounded meal for their countrymen and women in a rural town in Guatemala.
I imagine feeling very proud that my little boys have become young men and that they know the value of giving of themselves and sharing and acting as well as thinking and talking. I imagine they'll have a long way to go, but that we'll have made a good start.
