Easiest Solar Solution
The easiest way to power an everyday appliance is switching from from an electric dryer to a clothes drying rack. Our family purchased one some time back and have not used the electric clothes dryer for months.

Hey David! We have an electric dryer at our apartment, but I would consider a rack if it were the right size and I could find a place to put it. A few questions if you don't mind:
How big is the rack you have and where do you store it?
How quick do the clothes dry in comparison to the electric dryer?
Any estimate on how much energy you're saving? (I guess this might depend on the electric dryer)
Looks like you can pick these up at some local retail outlets, so I'll have to take a look. :)

You can also string a clothesline indoors - but I suggest STRONGLY, let them drip dry initially in the bathroom over a tub or something you don't mind drips on (no hardwood floor nightmare) - and depending on where you live, the time of year, etc... crack a window to moderate humidity if relevant.

@Sean You can find many racks on amazon.com. Mine is called the Polder Two-Tier Free Standing Clothes Drying Rack. I had to experiment with drying time. If it stays indoors it can take 4 hours depending on the material. If its outdoors in the sun the time drops to about 30 min. I found savings estimates online of about of 48 cents per load for an energy star dryer. Hope this helps.
