Eben Bayer: Saving the World from PLASTIC and STYROFOAM!
I have chosen Eben Bayer to be my Hero, CEO of Ecovative Design Green Island, NY
Environmental Technologies.
Ecovative Design is developing a family of green materials using a
growing organism to transform low-value agricultural byproducts into
strong biological composites. Ecovative’s MycoBond™ platform serves as
an affordable rigid-board insulation for commercial construction and as a
biodegradable replacement for packaging materials like Styrofoam™.
I have chosen Mr. Eben Bayer because of his long-term vision. And that is to apply the technology to multiple markets, providing an eco-friendly replacement to conventional plastics and foams
in applications from wind-turbine-blade core materials to boat hulls,
structural insulating panels and lightweight vehicle panels, and
eliminating unsustainable plastic and synthetic products from product
and waste streams.
If many companies would patronize their product, e.g. their innovated Styrofoam, the effects of environmental chaos could be mitigated.
As a young environmentalist, i have realized that their product is not purely business but rather a way of contributing to environmental protection and conservation.

Thanks for the bringing the work of Evocative Design to the attention of the network! Personally - I'm interested in their work with mushrooms! Some months ago I saw an online TED lecture on how mushrooms can save world, and now - through you - I've learned that someone has taken mushrooms to manufacturing. Thanks for this!

I have see this before....the substance works great for packing, then when it is thrown away, it acts as a fertilizer. An amazing creation! Thanks for sharing it!

The meal
It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal.
