Eco Disco in Rotterdam - "Club Watt"

In Rotterdam is the first sustainable nightclub in the world. The core of the eco-nightclub is the flexible electro-mechanical dance floor. The vibrations generated by the kinetic energy of the dancers (10 watts per dancer), gets converted into electricity and stored in batteries. "Club Watt" is not only power saving. The Club tries to give up everything that produces useless waste and electricity. Thus, the toilets are flushed with rain water. And the two Zero-Waste-bars are poured drinks only in re-usable hard plastic lenses. The first sustainable dance club in the world sets up a trend. Michel Smit, Co-inventor of the "Watt Club" -concept, looks forward to orders from around the world.

A Pinonier in the field of human energy use is the Italin Lucien Gambarota. Lucien Gambarota set up in Hong Kong the "California Fitness" club, where athletes generate at least as much power, that the lighting, music and electronics of the fitness equipment can operate.
