Dear Diary,
It is 2020, and I am celebrating Eid in a way that I never thought would be possible before. Today, in the new mosque, I noticed that the entire room was lit by natural light. There were huge windows everywhere. This was not the most impressive part though. (I hope this doesn't offend anyone) Everyone was doing wudu without water! Talk about conservation, imagine how much water it will save now that this group of people are doing wudu so unconventionally.
Later on, I hosted an Eid party, and I wanted to something that would really make an impact on my guests. I cooked all vegan using my solar powered kitchen. Along with this, my floor uses piezoelectric technology and powers my house almost completely when I have a large group of people around. So with so many people here, dancing (men and women separately, no worries) and walking around, I was able to harness that extra energy for my decorations :) This is all well and good, but these are things that I've already taken advantage of. Like I said, I wanted to make an impact by doing something they've never seen before. So, I had a live Muslim taqwacore band come in and I aided in them in becoming self-sustaining. They were able to harness the energy they were creating to power their electric instruments and the light up stage that they set-up outside of my house.
There was much more, but I'm exhausted so I'm off to pray namaz and then go to bed!
Reema
Wow, I'm going out on a limb here.
