The story I chose to follow was posted to the IFAD Social Reporting blog, the title of the story is "What does it mean to be an empowered woman in a man's world?". I decided to follow this story because it shared the point of view of three women in separate situations who all felt empowered because of their individual actions. I think that it is critically important that we listen and share these women's stories and the stories of others so that women around the world can find and develop ideas that will empower them in their own lives. The women in the story all have found a way to use their resources to empower themselves and create a bright future for themselves and their children. By being economically empowered they are able to ensure their children can attend school which will empower them in the future and by creating an educated population of women, political empowerment is made much more viable.
