12 A.M., June, 20, 2020--light out. All of them.
June 20, 2020 is Energy Conservation Day. All lights and air conditioning are turned off, all cars are idle (except for necessary ones, such as ambulances, fire trucks, police cars if necessary, etc.). Citizens are encouraged to have fun, without using electricity or burning oil.
Local swimming pools will be open, and energy awareness stations will be set up all over town. Booths with activities will be there, and kinetically powered gadgets such as fans and flashlights will be distributed to any who want them, but only after people learn how the kinetic gadgets work.
This day would not only save tons of coal and oil, but it would also raise awareness of how we burn resources, how energy works, and how people living in countries without electricity feel.
