Ok, so I've been inspired by
this thread to figure out ways to use Evoke outside of the ways they want us to use it. My first idea was this:
When you've reached the leaderboard, here on Evoke, if you feel like you've "been in the spotlight" long enough, and have a good enough network of friends that you can be heard without being on the leaderboard, stop using that login. Signup with a new login, maybe call it <yourlogin>2, and start using that login. Hit up all your friends to tell them you've switched, and make a post about your migration on your old login.
This will allow the new users to gain some traction faster, and will almost create "graduation cla****", as the people on the leaderboards at the same time will likely have a connected following, while new users will gravitate towards the new leaders at the time.
*UPDATE* If this sort of convention did catch on, you could even have historical statistic aggregator sites, which could take snapshots of the leaderboard over time and dispaly them on their own site. This would add additional context and value to the rankings at Evoke over time, while creating value in the new site......See, by working around the system, we can use the system in our own ventures!
Anyways, how else can we work the system in ways that we aren't suppsed to?
Just had another idea....does Evoke have an API available? If there isn't one published yet, it sure would be fun if some of us could figure out how to "Make our own Evoke API" hehe
* UPDATE *
I'm going to start dedicating a portion of my "Quest" to try to expose blogs that I like by putting a note the URL to the blogs in the Am I a Student Section. I believe this even fits into their model sort of...as I am indeed a student of those blogs ;) Check it out in the Secret Identity part of my profile:
