Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

• WHICH great challenges and social problems should the EVOKE Network tackle next?

I would try to tackle the problems concerning the education and schooling of children. Millions of children all over the world don't get an appropriate education. Be it "easy" things like reading, writing, listening or speaking or more specialized things like stuyding. Children don't get the chance to learn. As it is very difficult to escape this desperate situation fully on your own, most of them rest as analphabets or the like until the end of their life. Next, education should not supposed to be dependent on things like money or connections to people with much influence. Every human being should have the same right for education. Unfortunately, the reality looks different.

• WHERE in the world should the network try to build up new EVOKE communities?

I would focus on regions in Asia, especially the Philippines. My mother is from Filipino descent, so I know about many problems which are existing there.

• WHO would you encourage to play Season 2?

I would encourage people of every age, religion, political view and descent, male or female, who are willing to and interested in changing the world to a better place. Maybe I would focus on young students, because a lot of them are very creative and motivated as they still have their wh*** life ahead, but already are educated somehow and have the resources to tackle bigger problems.

• HOW would you change the game for Season 2?

In my opinion, the game concept is already pretty nice and interesting. Perhaps it could be a good idea to "force" more interaction between the single agents. Of course, working as a team is already possible, but probably only a small number of agents is making of this. I think, teams of agents would be able to generate even more great and valuable ideas.

• WHAT new tools would you want as an EVOKE agent?

Right now, I don't know of any tool I would wish to have as an EVOKE agent. What should be improved, is that a lot of the hyperlinks posted in the missions did not work anymore or lead to nowhere.

• WHY would you come back for a second Season? What more would you want from the experience?

I would come back because I like the idea of Social Innovations. Of course, many of the ideas will probably never be realised, but even if it's only 1% of them, it was definitely worth it, because helping 10.000 people is better than changing nobody's life.

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
