First of all, here in Germany is no really food insecurity. That many supermarkets has to throw food away because the best-before day is near should say anything.
So the problem right now is not the insecurity because you can get, for example, cornflakes in many different ways, beside that no own really need that.
But a problem in the near future can be the fact that more and more people have the problem of hunger. By the way, this problem is of course not as big as it is for people in Africa, because normally in Germany you get social assistance, which means you get approximately 360 Euros per month and the state pays your flat.
But with the increasing number of social boards ("Tafeln" in german), where you can buy food or vegetables very cheap, you can see that this problem is becoming more and more a factor.
To fight this problem we and the companies must ask ourselfes if we need so much different types of products and if it is not better to concentrate on the products we really need and make them better. So the resources can be used much more efficient.
