Fish has become such a rare and precious commodity that now a special exchange for fish has been opened in a Paris market place. Mme. Angelique de Lyon, the President, has today cut the green ribbon to open the exchange. Mssr. Soulon, Mayor of Paris remarked that "Cet bouse quands excitement pour tous les chefs de Paris".
The key market prices include 272 Yen for fine haddock, £300 for best cod and a remarkable $45 for one Monkfish Tail purchased by James Oliver - the famous English Chef with five Smith Stars, to take to Monjaco and use in the famous casino at Monte Carlo - fish has become so valuable now that it has replaced pastic as a key currency.
