A crash course in changing the world.
I helped with a local church in Gainesville serve food to people downtown on a Wednesday afternoon. It was such a rewarding experience just passing food out to some of the thousands in my town who are homeless. Smiling at them and just giving them a warm piece of chicken or bread to eat was very touching. Helping them ensure that they would have enough warm food to get them through the next day of their life was the least that I could do. Doing that really gave me a new perspective and appreciation for my own food security and it opened my eyes to the people in my community who need food. It is my duty and responsibility to help them when I can.
Helping someone else is a really rewarding thing.
