Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

nowadays, it's like every action that i do has a technology that allows it to generate energy. ever since the boom of personal generators that started with simple dynamo flashlights, people can actually go 'off the grid' and generate enough power for their house, provided that some care is taken to be conservative. i've had a lot of help in both finding out about these gadgets and trimming my own power usage, i've also worked with people to make sure that my house was build with renewable and sustainable resources. i have a small windmill and the house is covered in solar collectors.

i'm feeling quite energized after a short session in my energy producing Martial Arts Dynamo Gym. as i sit down in my favorite chair, the actuators generate power as they ease my movement into the chair. being a person with a lot of nervous energy, i practically power my computer with just the chair. the keyboard that i use generates a bit of power with each press of a key. i double check my messages for any new Evokes or other calls to action. none today for me; i would really like the chance to celebrate Beltaine with my friends and family this year. i stand up, the piezo electric floor tech that covers all of the floors subtly giving way under my feet. i draw a curtain to the side that is embedded with flexible solar energy collectors. looks like it will be a nice, bright day. the light piping running through the house provides more than enough light to navigate. even some of the doors generate energy when opened and closed.

i bounce down the stairs to meet my partner and kids. the little ones are already hopping up and down in anticipation of the day's plan.

"would you like to help me set up the May Pole streamers on the tree and make decorations?" their enthusiastic reply is a big "YES!". we had decided to tap our culinary creativity and make edible decorations. the kids have a wonderful and wild creative streak; obviously didn't come from me.

as the guests arrive, they make their way out to the patio. several start setting up various acoustic instruments and a DJ booth almost powered entirely by the rugged piezoelectric dance floor. my various pets frolic outside with toys based on the sOccket technology. we set out a number of dishes of recipes of various international origins; there is also the option to pick fruits and vegetables fresh from my miniature garden and grove.

some people have already decided to start the complex weaving of the May Pole; others are now enjoying the sounds of music with a drink in their hand. as night falls, we all hold small candles in lieu of a bonfire. i am glad that i had the opportunity to serve some part, however small, in the ability to have such a wonderful day.

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
