A crash course in changing the world.

I think during our lives we get inspired on all levels of society. From Nelson Mandela, to the postman who keeps plodding along on his bike after being bitten vigorously by the neighbor's dog, these moment affect and change our lives in drastic ways. One of the most famous story's of inspiration has to be sir Isaac Newton whom, after being hit on his head by an apple from the tree he was sat against, he discovered gravity. How can something so insignificant and irrelevant to life, create one of the laws that gave a large foundation to physics?? Inspiration.
Moving on to another level id like to discuss the characteristics of sir Isaac Newton. he was far from ordinary, and detested by the church of England, deemed as a trouble maker and a crook as well, his reputation wasn't a very positive one. But, he battled through and became one of the most inspirational characters of the 17th century.
This lead me to believe that everyone can be inspired, as he was by an apple, but only some people can be inspirational. And maybe we are running out of inspirational people with 80% of press coverage of youth is negative and i ask you to find 100 hundred people who truly believe in their government who are not controlled by or working for the government itself. The lack of faith is caused by a lack of inspiration from the people in the positions of power. There isn't rallying calls over the radio like sir Winston Churchill made during the second world war, nor is their speeches about dreams from Martin Luther King.
We need more people to stand up and be inspirational.

I think one of the problems is that no-one is perfect, and modern life and western culture are so eager to pick apart anyone who rises above the rest (and uncover their murky side) that no-one is allowed to be aspirational. Sir Isaac Newton was an alchemist, for example, Churchill was a drunkard, and I'm sure someone's pulled up dirt on Mr King too. No-one is without imperfection, and we as a people seem so very determined to knock down anyone who looks like they might get important. Sad!

i suppose the media has nothing at all to do with this. (sarcastic touch)

The media is controlled. It's not the 4th power, it's an effective weapon of the first three. Media manipulates ma**** when manipulation is needed to calm people down or to escalate tension. I am a journalist and had some moments in my life when wanted to write about some criminals or back doors in our Law system but every time I wanted to do this my media didn't support me. Neither do others, they even warned me to stop investigating because it was too dangerous. I was forced to blog about the problems or publish them on my website and some friends' websites. That's why I love the Internet! From the position of a regular citizen you can write whatever you want, while from the position of a journalist you have to be careful what you are allowed yo publish and what you are not. Power, corruption, connections, manipulation. I don't know about the situation in your countries but in Bulgaria media is all about money and personal PR.

in england its all about the hype trying to fill the paper with either lies or manipulated truth when people question the media's stories they say well prove it didnt happen which, is hard than it looks sometimes.

I agree. I think those who have the potential to inspire are being turned off by society and diluted by all this tech/info. The Wright Bros always inspire me. Imagine, they were considered nuts, two brothers with the vision of flying... to imagine in 60 years their work would put us on the moon...

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
