It is tough when you want to to find a great idea. When you find one, you just feel the need to publish it.
I have found an amazing idea while running through some forums. A group of random users were discussing the idea of turning cars or bicycles into energy producing generators. The environment is already damaged enough with CO2 emissions at an all time high. Power plants contribute to this as well to produce electricity.
The basic concept of this idea is that since the car is already producing CO2, why not make the fullest use of it. By placing a dynamo in the wheels of the car, and with the wheels rotating God-knows-how-many times per kilometer, imagine the amount of electrical energy that could be harnessed from just one car. In theory, a car that travels 40 kilometers a day could produce enough electricity to power a 2-bedroom apartment.
Some developing nations readily have access to simple cars and fuel but do not have a sustainable source of energy. If each household could receive that system in their car, they could at least have enough power to last the day. This idea could even be done in developed nations. The energy could be collected in "batteries" located in the cars and could be sold to power houses in suburbs to reduce power usage in that area which will reduce the rate at whihc power plants produce energy which in turn reduces the CO2 emmissions
