Gratitude Gardens or Corporate Food Coup D'Etat in the USA???

It is very interesting that we are developing food security
solutions
and proposing Gratitude Gardens,
and nobody mentions this:

S 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2010, may be the most dangerous bill in the history of the US. It is to our food what the bailout was to
our economy, only we can live without money.

"If accepted [S 510] would preclude the public's right to grow,
own, trade, transport, share, feed and eat each and every food that
nature makes
. It will become the most offensive authority
against the cultivation, trade and consumption of food and agricultural
products of one's choice. It will be unconstitutional and contrary to
natural law or, if you like, the will of God." ~Dr. Shiv Chopra, Canada
Health whistleblower

It is similar to what India faced with imposition of the salt tax
during British rule, only S 510 extends control over all
food in the US, violating the fundamental human right to food.

Monsanto says it has no interest in the bill and would not benefit from
it, but Monsanto's Michael Taylor who gave us rBGH and unregulated
genetically modified (GM) organisms, appears to have designed
it and is waiting as an appointed Food Czar to the FDA (a position
unapproved by Congress) to administer the agency it would create -- without
judicial review
-- if it pa****. S 510 would give Monsanto
unlimited power over all US seed, food supplements, food and farming.

History In the 1990s, Bill Clinton introduced HACCP (Hazardous Analysis
Critical Control Points) purportedly to deal with contamination in the
meat industry. Clinton's HACCP delighted the offending corporate
(World Trade Organization "WTO") meat packers since it allowed them to
inspect themselves, eliminated thousands of local food processors (with
no history of contamination), and centralized meat into their
control. Monsanto
promoted HACCP
.

In 2008, Hillary Clinton, urged a powerful centralized food safety
agency as part of her campaign for president. Her advisor was Mark
Penn
, CEO of Burson Marsteller*, a giant PR firm representing
Monsanto
. Clinton lost, but Clinton friends such as Rosa DeLauro,
whose husband's firm lists Monsanto
as a progressive client and globalization as an area of
expertise, introduced early versions of S 510
S 510 fails on moral, social, economic, political, constitutional, and human
survival grounds.

1. It puts all US food and all US farms under Homeland Security and
the Department of Defense, in the event of contamination or an
ill-defined emergency
. It resembles the Kissinger
Plan
.

2. It would end US sovereignty over its own
food supply
by insisting on compliance
with the WTO
, thus threatening national security
. It
would end the Uruguay Round Agreement Act of 1994, which put US
sovereignty and US law under perfect protection.
Instead, S 510 says:

COMPLIANCE WITH INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS.

Nothing in this Act (or an amendment made by this Act) shall be
construed in a manner inconsistent with the agreement establishing the
World Trade Organization or any other treaty or international agreement
to which the United States is a party.

3. It would allow the government, under Maritime Law, to
define the introduction of any food into commerce (even direct sales
between individuals) as smuggling into "the United States."

Since under that law, the US is a corporate entity

and not a location, "entry of food into the US" covers food produced anywhere
within the land mass of this country and "entering into" it by virtue
of being produced.

Looks like environmentalists and people who care about their country are going the way of the puritans. Run from England or join the kings church! Perhaps this time we'll get it right and tell the government "No". We shouldn't have to be terrorists in our own country over vegies and animals.

Sarah, Well thanks, I think. (I don't think of myself as old enough to be anyones grandma, but I guess, alas, tis true.) Smile.

Here is what I have done which perhaps might be an example...I began a spiritual journey 14 years ago ( I've since come to equate spirituality with consciousness). I had been out running around trying to revitalize my inner city and create community. I used to go to dozens of meetings every month, I was meeting with politicians, planners, community leaders, etc. Finally, I realized that all my energies were wasted in such pursuits. I had begun studying energy as in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Taoism, the I Ching and astrology (an ancient, encrypted mathematical system which measures the electromagnetic field in which we live; which is expressed in a symbolic language.) The more I learned of the energies of the universe the more I learned the importance of focusing on what was wrong or out of balance with me vs. what is wrong with the world. This focus enabled me to process my own traumas, work on my health and work toward a true balance of energy, etc., but it also allowed me to get in touch with an inner wisdom as is expressed from the right brain (which is the universal brain). In many ways, I disconnected from the world and nurtured and came to know of my authentic self which had been so subverted due to my gender and traumas suffered in my youth. As I focused on me, my interests, my passions (research), my work began to expand in surprising directions. I realized that there was an intelligence at work to which my left (egoic) brain was clueless. I incorporated the intelligence from my long repressed emotions--which I had learned the ancients recognized as the source of wisdom. I now see our emotions as our instincts which have been so dulled through history but what are vital to our survival. I discuss this in http://www.urgentevoke.com/profiles/blogs/de-nial-aint-just-a-river-in

In learning to focus on the answers from within, I learned that not only was I getting in touch with what is unique about myself, but I believe that I was literally getting in touch with the very "gifts" that I may contribute to help transform our world. Here is my personal example. As a young college student majoring in history with a minor in religion, I became interested in how economic cycles of booms and busts recurred throughout history resulting in severe displacement and trauma of populations. As I could see this recurrence, I thought that what we could see, we could either avert or create a viable alternative. This led me to a personal passion for studying economics which I have done on my own ever since leaving the university. For the past 25 years, I have read up to 70 books a year on economics and history (and more, I've quite eclectic interest)--seeking an alternative economic model. (I can't say that I always knew this was my intent--only that I was passionate about the field.--See there is always a hidden unconscious wisdom leading us.)

Then as indicated, 14 years ago, I began studying energy. I did this much of the time wondering why in the world was I doing so? My imagination had been forever captured by a book title (one which I actually never read) Do What You Love, The Money Will Follow. So, that's what I've done. Finally, I made a connection that I might be able to figure how to time windfalls of money and thus free myself up to do more interesting things with my life than work in some job--which lets face it are mostly focused on exploiting the resources of our already environmentally, overwhelmed planet. I learned or remembered that a desire of my young self was to study music and compose. I also remembered a desire to work with whales, or the ocean. I've now developed a desire to help rid the oceans of plastics, etc.

Anyway, what I eventually realized is that my work (I've had in my mind the creation of a personal clock which might indicate windows of opportunity for making investments) might serve a bigger societal purpose (Who knew?). I frankly was stunned, but was fascinated by the wh*** process. If I can come up with such an idea (and hopefully, eventually simplify it in order to open-source the information) what marvels are "hidden" within others who would follow their own bliss.

This is the practical basis for the Taoist adage: "If you wish to change the world, you need only work on changing yourself, then you will find that was all that was necessary."

I might add that another more profound reason for this being true, is that it is very difficult to change oneself-as I have learned. I read once it takes 20 times of becoming conscious of something in order to change a habit. Once one begins to focus on their own imbalances, one develops a real appreciation about why it is impossible to change others. This then creates a personal humility and tolerance for others and their own trials and tribulations. We literally are like magnets on this electromagnetic field called Earth and as we balance all other magnets in the field must shift.

I have become aware of in effect my own divinity. This idea was widely understood in the time before monotheism. I believe that pantheism as preexisted the model, which came to dominate our thinking, wasn't about Gods, but was literally a metaphor which acknowledged the divinity or god within each one of us. We are all made of the same energies which exists throughout the universe and through our right hemisphere, universal brain are specifically in touch with that energy and our universal instructions. As the Hopi Elders said: "We are the ones we've been waiting for."

How you taken the time and energy to rebalance yourself and find your unique spark?

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
