Green City

The perfect example for a promising city concept is Freiburg im Breisgau. Freiburg, known as Germany's Green City, initiated loads of eco-friendly projects and concepts in response to global warming and the shortage of natural resources, which could be adopted by Nuremberg. In the course of eco-friendly city development Freiburg launched the project SolarRegion Freiburg, which provides residents with information about the solar suitability of their roofs. Furthermore city's traffic concept could be launched in other cities. Only cars with a certain exhaust emission standard are allowed to enter particular areas of Freiburg. Nuremberg's structure would even be suitable to launch a totally car-free area in the historic district and to upgrade the public transport system. The expansion of green spaces could be an additional step to an eco-friendly city concept.
