As both a military historian and a
sadhaka (trainee-practitioner) of the Nath tradition of yoga, I have great respect for the people of Nepal. In the spirit of this, the following message has been posted to my LiveJournal, Facebook, and Twitter accounts (abbreviated here, of course). I submit it here for your consideration as well.

This cause ticks several boxes of coolness and worthiness for me. 1)
Providing opportunities for women to achieve a degree of equality and
independence in a place where that is currently not the norm. 2)
Training people in sustainable agriculture, which gives them a degree
of self-subsistence that so many of us in this world simply do not
enjoy. 3) Promotes organic and co-operative farming, which I
wh***heartedly support.
Dig deep and give something, anything, if you're able. If you're not
able, that's cool too. Instead, spread the word to as many people as
possible.
Alas, circ**stances at the moment prevent me from donating anything at the moment. But I recognize that I have the capability of reaching a lot of people with this. So I do what I can to tell others in the hope that they can help more than I.
