A crash course in changing the world.
Grow Out to Eat
The average vegetable travels over 3,000 miles before you eat it! By then it may have lost as much as 70% of its nutrients!*** What better way to prevent this from happening (and help the environment) than to grow some of what you eat? Even one meal a week made from your own garden, or purchased from a local farmer's market can have a positive impact on the environment and your local community!
Why not grow out to eat? Here's how...
1.Select your site - Most veggies, fruits, and herbs need lots of sunlight to grow. Get your edible garden off to the right start by picking a place in your yard that gets at least 6 hours of sunlight.
2. Condition your soil - Enrich your existing garden soil for veggies that thrive. Using a shovel, mix in a fresh layer of garden soil to prepare the ground for planting.
3. Plant the seed - Plant your vegetable and herb seeds or seedlings according to the recommended package instructions.
4. Water and feed - Feed and water your plants at once
5. Protect your veggies - Use an insect killer that is plant and eco-friendly!
6. Eat Up! - Harvet your veggies and add them to your favortie dish!

The meal
It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal.
