Inspiration is a key do anything, it doesn't matter what inspires you, but what matters the most is how to take that inspiration, in that sense I will not write about a single hero I will tell you about many of my heroes and try to tell you why they inspire me.
The First of my heroes and this is from an strictly professional view is Paul Krugman, I admire his work as an economist because of its great insights in the field and the simplicity that he is able to bring to some really complicated topics of the field, also I greatly admire him because of its capacity to translate from the technical to the mainstream world in a way that everyone even the ones no familiar with the science can understand so he became a divulgator of knowledge.
The Second I would like to mention is Hans Rosling, in a sense its kind the same reason but with a different angle, He found ways in which make available information for all of us and teach us a way to see the world that is different its inter temporal in his project Gap Minder.
The Third is Amartya Sen, because of his work in development economics and the freedom as a important factor in development, his work make us thing in ways in which we can improve our freedom to develop our own capacities at its full.
I think these 3 are the most influential in my perspective and I would like to go further than them and take things to a next level.
To keep in touch with the work they do, its simply, social networks now give us the capacity to follow on twitter or facebook, online libraries of papers make us possible to read their work.
