It is year 47 of the new calendar which began in the West’s 2012 that corresponded with the end of the Mayan long-count calendar. The Mayans were master times keepers who understanding the major cycles of our universe had for centuries clocked the phases between our planetary turning points. The conclusion of their long-count calendar in effect marked the coinciding low of all the various natural cycles thus marking the end point of the previous world and offered us a new, real possibility for renewal and rebirth.

After 8 centuries of booms and busts, the Western economic model had been totally discredited. Markets would no longer mesmerize the peoples of Earth. New models for interaction were being established which honored the sacred nature of the Earth, the natural world and all of the Earth’s citizens. There was a recognition that god was not some abstract male being located somewhere out in the heavens but rather resided within all of life and was a energy which revered both masculine and feminine equally. This was not a new concept, the great clash of the sky gods and the Earth goddess at the dawn of history resulted in monotheism replacing the existing pantheism, which was a belief system that recognized the sacred or divinity inherit within all of life rather the exclusionary masculine model which replaced it whereby god was only to be accessed directly by an elite cadre of men—thus establishing the hierarchy from which we all had suffered.

History, written by the winners themselves, had recorded how the conquerors in the name of their God made their way East and West from Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Ever expanding cycles of waves of warfare and genocide inundated the native peoples and annihilated their ways of life, beginning with the Israelites, and other Middle Eastern peoples, the Europeans, Africans, Asians, Native Americans, and Pacific Islanders, all succ**bed from engagement with the aggressive warrior clans and their ever expanding empire. It was not just a case of an inherently superior philosophical system winning over the hearts and minds of the peoples of Earth—our ancestors were literally and brutally subjugated over the past several thousand years and their spiritual traditions, cultures and lands literally stolen from them. Wh*** civilizations tangibly lost their freedom to live in harmony with nature and with each other as the ideology; customs and institutions of the plunderers were enforced upon the relatively few traumatized people who
survived the onslaughts. We can look for evidence of the mind sets of the conquerors who masterminded the takeover of our planet from Papal Bulls issued by the Pope resulting in the numerous Crusades and the Age of Discovery. These doc**ents can be seen as tangible artifacts of policies of hegemony which enslaved all of the people of Earth in a hierarchal system of control which had been maintained by the primary tools of Empire: religion, economics and the law.

We remembered that all indigenous peoples had their own spiritual traditions which recognized the nature of the electro-magnetic field of our universe. The Taoist had named this energy yin/yang and it formed the basis of most all traditional medicines and philosophies as well as modern day physics. Much early literature and knowledge was predicated on an understanding of how to maintain a balance between the polarities of yin and yang or feminine and masculine. This energy or force is that which we had all have felt as god—our personal connection—and rather than being outside of us, we realized was literally omnipresent within each of us, and was most succinctly accessed through our right universal brain. We are all gods or energy—women and men alike. This is the basic premise behind the idea of pantheism-multiple gods. After our recognition of how we had been controlled and manipulated though history, it was agreed that a new egalitarian world would be established which honored the god within us all. We would begin to weave together “ourstory.”

Globally it was felt that a new calendar should be established; one that represented all the peoples of earth and began a new count for the coming epoch by replicating the Mayan knowledge of the earth’s cyclical future. We began to establish new festivals which honored and celebrated both our cultural differences and our human creative similarities.
