A crash course in changing the world.
I found this part of mission three a bit hard to complete(seriously!) - most the technological innovations I came across were focused on using one type of technology(hydro-MFC-wind etc),and to me seemed a bit one dimensional.
By saying that they were one dimensional I mean don't to take away any credit for the good efforts people took to make these innovations available for our use, rather that the ideal, sustainable kind of innovation would have to anticipate changes in factors that affect their energy source.
For instance - South Africa is mostly semi-arid & hydro energy concepts might not as effective [non-perenial rivers;low rainfall];solar might work better than hydro but that requires a lot of maintainces(not forgetting that it's expensive to install) - each technology has its pros & cons;and so a combination of 1 or more depending on the location(& other factors I listed in the previous blog) could do a better job than just one type of technology.
This combo/hybrid concept will obviously vary from one area to another ,moreover I think it is more sustainable since it would have been designed to fit the areas's energy needs.
There are people who take the intiative to make hybrid concepts, for example, agent Karamveer Lalh,a fellow evoker - has a solar/wind power concept;I'd like to believe that there many more who have seen the need for hybrid concept(however they are hard to come by)
If you know of anyone/have any links please share - thanks.
