A crash course in changing the world.
It is always so hard to imagine what my life will be like, whether it is next week or in 6 years. My plans and dreams are always changing but hopefully some will come true. In the year 2020, I will have graduated with my masters in student affairs. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always helped others through volunteering. That passion translated into my college experience, and I know that I can continue to help others as a student affairs professional. I will be living near a university working with college students and helping them with their transition.
I also hope by that by 2020 I have a wonderful family with a loving husband and children. I hope to instill the beliefs that my parents have taught me to my children. One of the lessons that my parents taught me was to always help someone when they are in need. That simple lesson has shaped the way I live my life, and I can see myself doing that on a daily basis. Sometimes the smallest gestures of a helping hand can leave a lasting impression. If I can find a way to help someone everyday, then I believe I am changing the world.
If Alchemy calls me to help with the Tokyo food crisis, I would find a way to help. One way I could help would be to talk with students about the crisis and help set up a program where food could be collected. Sometime's it is easy to feel the pressure of doing something on your own. But if I were to tell others about the crisis and spread the word, then more people could help.
