A crash course in changing the world.

(imagine1) 2020 - my year? your year? our year?

so the year is 2020 and much has changed since 2010. 10 wh*** years have passed since i signed up to become a social inovator and the question of what have i done?, arises. this year, 2020, is a year where all people are needed to tackle social problems in tokyo and the rest of the world. fortunatly for me becoming a chartered accountant as well as becoming an evoke agent, i took it upon myself to teach people when they were growing up of their part in society.

the improved education and literacy rates that my funding and evokation had brought about had enabled many people to attend tertiary institutions so that one day, like this day, they my be there to lend a helping hand for the generations of tomorrow. yes, my evokation has not been around for long but the results are there. proof that my literacy and education program has had a significant impact in peoples lives is a steady sign that more is yet to come.

instead of me simply being ready to tackle the problems of today and those of tomorrow, i have mentored students in such a way that they also play a key role, therefore strengthening the society of tommorow.

by doing this i have tackled tomorrows problems today and the world will see a brighter future than once laid out before us. the question that remains, is 2020 my year, you year, or our year?

Tell us more about your evokation! How are you going to improve education and literacy?

thanks marc i really hope so too :) well chelsea its still in its early days and definatly needs to be planed more but basically i want to target South Africa first. at the moment we have very poor education standards and i want to fix that, people in rural townships need better facilities but most importantly they need to be motivated, thats where my evokation will differ from the others that have failed. its simple to change an education system but it definatly another thing to change the mindsets of the youth that they can actually be someone where all they used to are tin shacks, or poor learning, sporting and teaching facilities... but yea look out toward my evokation in detail toward the end, deff will be something worth while :)

Shaun,

Great to hear that you have a plan to target South Africa. Have you heard of an organization called Right To Play? I read that you enjoy sports and excel at them. This organization uses sports to help educate and improve the quality of life of children in developing countries. This might be something to look into.

Hey Shaun! I think it s great that you are targeting eduucation in your local environment. It's sad to say that education is lacking in not only developing worlds but countries such as the US that seem to be more than able to fund a good education system but don't.

exactly! i once heard from one of my friends from nigeria who was very academically gifted, he said that if you neglect academics you are simply an idiot. it shocked me quiet abit and i asked him why he felt that way and he told me that academics is what gives you, a future, a hope and a better life so if you neglect it your simply an idiot. that guy motivated me so much that i acheived full academic colours at my school and it has opened up many doors for me. i think one of the major problems in South Africa and maybe you'd agree with the US is the nobody actually cares? teachers teach but thats as far as it goes, i mean i finished high school in 2008 and even then if you tried asking for extra help you wouldnt get it. i would hate to see what its like today... thats my goal, i want to motivate learners, teachers, etc to the point where education in countries such as South Africa becomes a standard and a norm rather than a privallege and a past time to those who arn't interested

Yes! I really feel like nobody cares anymore. It seems like the teacers just go in, give a lcture and leave. They are no longer motivated to make sure students think outside of the box and find creative ways to solve problems. Students need someone to tell them that they can achieve more and to always reach for higher goals.

yea and that should be coming from them especially. the majority of underprivaledged school kids in South Africa have to live in such harsh conditions. not all of them have running water or electricity, some even have to live in shacks.. they all ready have the mindset that its going to be like that forever because they have no hope or motivation... i was in a former model C school (non-private) and the fact that i wasnt being motivated to the best of my abilities left me with very little help for the younger kids as well as the disadvantaged kids... imagine how different it would be if they were motivated from grade 1 (form 1) they would lead such different lives.. drungs, the hiv/aids pandemic, especialy in south africa, alcohol abuse, poor behaviour, all that stuff wouldnt be as intense as people would understant the oppertunity costs involved with all that stuff... really this could change so much and solve so many problems, not just hear but elsewhere in the worl as well

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
