A crash course in changing the world.
It’s April 24th, 2020. I’ve graduated from art school, after a myriad of positions storyboarding and animating at marketing companies, I’ve finally landed a job at a big feature film company. My work nights range from your average eight hour day to extremely long nights where I may as well take a sleeping bag with me to the office. My son is 10 years old and doing well in school. I regularly find new and exciting places for us to go and things for us to do to give him a wide range of experiences. My husband has also been in and out of college, and has finally found his calling. We have our first house. It’s just the right amount of space for the three of us. We aren’t extremely well off, but we manage just fine.
On this particular day, I’m working on some personal projects in my studio at home. I have several projects going on at any given time, including that online comic I never got around to finishing ten years ago. I really need to work on that. Other projects include a series of shorts aimed at teaching children critical thinking skills. When the call comes in about the food crisis in Tokyo, I’d be the one to help raise awareness of the issue while my husband genetically engineers rainbow rice.
