A crash course in changing the world.
So I remember looking at a copy of Maclean's while at the dentist's office, and whilst skimming through, I caught a look at an article with an idea for the future of currency. This means this isn't completely my idea, but bear with me. He (I don't know the name of the article, nor the author) explains that we can start using this system of cards with tasks (just like on Evoke) that one accomplished and signed by a witness, can be exchanged for some form of "Kudos" or "Karma". The amount of Karma you receive will also be dictated by the degree of your deeds. This will encourage people to do more charity work, and the main motivator will be that those with the highest amounts of this Karma will be most respected. They'll go to the best parties, have better seats, and many perks that entail high amounts of Karma. The more this system progresses, they might have even more respect than people with a lot of money. It's a lot shot, but it'd be really cool to see those to do good deeds getting veneered.
So the currency will be called 'Karma Points', and it's an accessory to money, it's not a replacement, because you can't sell your points, you can only stack them on top of each other. It can also be used as a minor background check because people with more points tend to be more giving.
You could also post your points on Facebook or some other social network and compare them to your friends'.
Once again, this isn't really my idea. If anyone knows the name of that article in Maclean's, or the name of the guy who did it, let me know please.
Here's an example of this system in action. I used Bill Gates and I gave him a high number of points because he's quite the plilanthropist.
