A crash course in changing the world.
I live in Felton, CA and decided to create maps to look at the resources currently available in 2010 and how they could be improved to increase resiliency in 2020. I found that Felton currently has grid energy sources coming from Geothermal, Wind, Hydroelectric, Solar, Nuclear, and Natural Gas. Regionally, energy is more resilient in 2020 as a result of increasing the proportion of renewable sources. Locally, energy is more resilient in 2020 by using batteries from electric cars that are connected to the grid to provide load balancing power. Also, residential and business PV is providing more solar power. I found that Felton water comes from a local stream. In 2020, residential graywater is reused to water plants and gardens. Felton is served by many local CSA farms, but in 2020 community gardens provide food even closer to home.
