While the future is uncertain, and my vision of it more warped than that of a branch underwater, I will hazard to imagine. If we cannot imagine, and dream how then are we human?
In 10 years I hope to be a professor of philosophy. At the moment I am on track, I will be attending a MA program in philosophy at CSULA beginning this fall. Hopefully I will kick but and leverage myself into a PHD program, and finally a professorship.
How will I utilize my position to change the world? This is hard, as theory and world rarely if ever meet. I hope though to engage my life in rich and rigorous argumentation for social justice. I hope to be able to contribute to what seems to be a nascent science of human welfare. By exploring questions such as "What is happiness?", and "What is Justice", I hope to push forward human thought. We must properly digest the ethical and moral concerns of coming quick and rapid change, for if we don't, we may end up for the worse.
