How many people do you know who use a computer? The amount of computer users is growing everyday. There has got to be a way to harness the power of the computer user.
We've all heard the old computer with the pedals under the desk. Let's be real. Who is going to use that? When I sit down to use the computer, half of the experience is getting to relax a little bit while I let technology do what is does best.
But what is the one physical activity that we all do while sitting down to a computer? We all type.
How much power would have been created if keyboards were designed to take in energy from every keystroke? What if since the invention of the internet, keyboards had been taking in energy? Man cannot even imagine the number of words typed out by man since then. Countless websites, word doc**ents, program coding, spreadsheets, blogs and more!
What if your laptop battery would last longer if could simply type? What if you could let your 2 year pound the keyboard knowing that while the computer was off, it was being used to charge the battery to your iPhone? So much of man's energy is eaten up on keyboards, it would feel good to know that while typing out this article that I would actually be conserving power and that every person who responds is conserving as well.
I foresee this technology to be quite easy to apply, although the cost might not be ideal. Along with the new trend moving towards touch screen devices, God only knows how much longer it will be before keyboards are in a museum and we are recycling them into plastic bags.
