Learn 1 Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication
I like this quote a lot.
It is so easy for us to over-engineer in design. It is almost as if we feel a need to make things more complicated than they have to be. I am always impressed when I see a very simple solution to a complex problem. This is the wonder of duck tape. It does the job, almost as effectively, of about a million different adhesives, while costing next to nothing to produce. Keeping designs simple is a very important thing that, I think, every innovator should keep in mind.

Thanks for your post. It makes me think that we should strive to make all our solutions open-ended to allow users the opportunity apply them to situations not officially 'designed' for! "Duck" tape is so versatile we tend to forget that it was originally designed for 'ducts' ;)

the duck tap thing is not entirely true, duct tape is metallic and stickier,but more brittle. Duck tape is named after "cotton duck", the cotton lacing that gives it its strength.

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal.
