In general I dont think that my community is undergoing any type of food struggles. The area in which I live in Jamaica is pretty much like the city. In my area, there are many supermarkets (shopping centers for food) All of the food my mother buys is from these stores. My grandfather has had a little garden growing in our backyard for quite some time now. He grows tomatoes, apples, peaches, plums, peppers, cuc**bers, collards greens, turnip greens and mustard greens. So most of our vegetables and fruits come right out of our backyard.
So seeing as how my we have a mini farm in our backyard, our family is pretty stable food wise. As for others, i'm not too sure. But to help the cause I guess I could volunteer at some of the farms around my area. I think that taking care of a farm has to be a very hard task and they could use all the help they can get.
