A crash course in changing the world.
A 13-year old Ugandan girl fights for children's rights
It is about a girl called Hakima, she is from Uganda. She has volunteered in child rights organization Plan International. She is leading child rights initiatives in her school and her community. This year she joined the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women they are focusing to stop violence against women and girls. She went to New York for this event to learn more things that effects women's and girls.
She thinks there are a lots of reasons why women are not equal. First, women must get married in a very young age in that area. The girls are forced by their parents because it is one of their culture and belief. Second, they don't allow girls to go to school, because they will take the boys job.'
I think Hakima is a great person in our life. She is only 13, but she is already observing the world and really know whats going on the world. She is very concerned about women's that are suffering from mens or by it environment. Her dream is to be doctor to help sick people.
