"talk to the people who have the problem – and LISTEN to what they have to say"
Although I have had seen this idea before, I haven't put it to good use. I dislike using the term, secret, so let's call it an idea. This is an extremely powerful idea from the standpoint it can be utilized in all areas of our lives. Whether it is on a small scale and using it with family and friends, in your professional environment or on a grander scale, to change the world, Figure out the people that have a stake in your decision and solicit their input. This simple idea will give you valuable insights and earn appreciation and respect from those you include. This earned respect will now earn you their assistance and support, if you truly listen to what they have to say.
I plan to incorporate this idea to improve my interactions with those I encounter and by doing so hopefully the idea will take hold with others.
Now, keep learning from your customers. Go back, find out did your ideas work. Can your customers add any new insight? Communication needs to be an ongoing process. And by that I mean, I plan to talk less and listen more.
