"Do the hard work needed to find a simple solution. As Leonardo da Vinci said, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”—and it is the key to this type of design work."
This is possibly the best thing about our human ability to solve problems - the fact that, often enough, the simple solution does the trick. Think about Intellectual Ventures, Nathan Myhrvold's company (if you recognise the name, it's because he was Bill Gates's right-hand man) - they want to pump sulphur dioxide into the stratosphere in an act of counter-Global Warming - and they're going to do it with a hose-pipe! Who knows, maybe you could be the bright spark who thinks up the simplest solution to poverty, or world hunger. So, why not get thinking?
This type of thinking could help anyone save the world from the issues that we face, so why not anyone? Why not me? An idea I have is to promote the idea of sustainability and environmental awareness in as many places as possible, making use of the languages I am capable of speaking.
