LEARN4:Collecting Rainwater
I was reading a book called Seedfolks recently and a great idea was brought to my attention. Why don't we use funnels to collect rainwater into large garbage cans and or other containers. It would be a great way to collect a large amount of water and can be used for gardening. In the book it was used to help a community garden. I myself would like to maybe try out this idea.
I would need....
-large containers such as garbage can etc.
-funnels or something that the water can run through.
-and some pails or watering cans to collect the water.
Although it is a simple idea I think it might be a good way to save water.

Great, simple idea Hannah. Actually some gardens in the UK have such collectors...mainly because we get so much rain!!
If however we could change building regulations to mandate that all new houses have them build in as standard think of the impact this could have on water conservation. With a little bit of filtration there is no reason this water can't be used in the house as well as for the garden.

Hi Hannah, good news! those systems exist. The house of a friend of mine in Barcelona (Spain) has a built in system to recover and recycle water for in-house and gardening which looks like this:

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal.
