A crash course in changing the world.
When i visited the the WomenWatch news feed the latest news was about a 20 years woman, called Emini, who lives in the so-called “House of Hope”, where woman can live (also with their children) for a certain period of time after leaving prison. Emini was originally sentenced to three years in prison from running away from her abusive husband and his family. Now. She tries to get divorced and hopes that a lawyer can help her.
After this unbelievable story, i visited the website of WOMAN FOR AFGHAN WOMAN, which is the local non-governmental organization helping those womans.
On this site I found another moving story. Her name is nilab. After the suicide of her dead, her mother was convicted of kidnapping. One year later she visited school, “becoming fluent in English – a star student with intellectual aspirations”( http://www.womenforafghanwomen.org/). The Woman for Afghan Woman Organization brought her to the 10th anniversity gala. Where she spoke an emotional speech, which moves the audience to tears and standing ovations. Now, she has a three-years scholarship. Now she can get education, which, in Afghanistan wouldn’t be possible. But, explore the story on your own and see the TIME video: http://www.time.com/time/video/player/0,32068,1373735186001_2104750...
