LIFESAVER JERRYCAN
I dont know if someone already posted this but well anyways here it is.
Micheal Pritchard has invented the unthinkable, a water filter system that turns dirty water into 100 percent drinkable water. ‘LIFESAVER jerrycan AID’ will process up to 15,000 litres of clean sterile drinking water. Children need at least 2 litres of water each day to survive. One LIFESAVER jerrycan can produce 20,000 litres of
drinking water. This means that one jerrycan can provide enough safe
drinking water for a family of 4 for up to 5 years. Then there is the issue of weight. Transporting a
pallet of 50 Jerrycans is the equivalent of transporting 1 million
litres of bottled water. The difference is the pallet of jerrycans
weighs 200 kilos and the water weighs 1 million kilos. You would need
14x Boeing C-17 Transport planes to ship that amount of water.
So yeah Lifesavers are currently being shipped out to Haiti and would definiteley help african families, the thing is that their kind of expensive so, any other solution?
